Talk about a loud burst of violence....BOOM!!!
Makes for a good show...
But isn't the blast radius the same as before?

I think I recall this mod. It creates a orange explosion like the deemer in 2003 right? Huge too. I ran it once and it was voted away in less than 3 days if I recall properly. I try to listen to the players and do what they want but there are other times when it's just all about me BABY! See what your folks say!

Well had about nine different people on the server and they all liked the 2K3 mod except one, Ghostmaster. I don't think she had played redeemer before and the violence was a little too much too fast coming at her. When we had about five playing "BathroomCow" and "BridgeEnd" the explosions were fast and intense. Lot of fun. Almost overwhelms the senses.

The blast radius, I can't tell if its bigger or not. Some people said it was and it might be different map to map. The weapon does have a recoil when fired and you can really notice it on a low grav map. If you jump in the air and fire continuously it'll push you from one side of "Angeltown" to the other so you have a control element to deal with that your not use to. Overall good change of pace.

I installed both the 2K3 and 2K4 mods. The 2K4 display on a "fire and guide" provides a lot less view and would be hard for new players so I went for the 2K3 instead.

Keep the feedback on this mod coming and post any problems with it please.

I did notice the hindered vision while guiding but overall it's a great idea.

If you want, link me the mod and I'll tell you if the blast radius is the same. Also, this would be a simple mod so any changes you'd like in it, let me know and I could whip you something up.

It does a little in the 2K3 mod but does it a lot more in the 2K4 mod . . . .

I got it from Wormbo's page. You'll see the 2K4 mod and the 2K3 is right underneath it . . . http://www.koehler-homepage.de/Wormbo/download.html

The entity known as "Klownz" has enjoyed the map Bathroom-Cow;
POTS suggested the Klownz that map, thus the Klownz will not telefrag the POTS... at least for a little while...

[Edit]
I'm not a fan of new redeemer mods because I usually can't figure out the correct damage radius, those visual effects tend to confuse me, but maybe it's just me :roll:

OK, Wormbo added a fourth damage layer to the splash which further clarifies how much damage you take by being closer. Overall the damage radius appears to be the same size, though the effects are very different visually. Hope that helps.

2K3...2K4...2K7...I never really use them myself.

Blast radius is bigger based on some gameplay I was doing with the bots. They were able to get me with blast radius with 2K3 that they had not been able to get me before . . .

You are right Klownz. Here's the code:

Code: Select all

class RedeemerShockwaveDamage extends R2k3_WarShell abstract;

defaultproperties
{
     ProjectileName="redeemer shockwave"
     SplashDamageType=RedeemerDeath
     DamageRadius=1600.000000
}
It's a bit of an increase. Next time I'll check more thoroughly. My apologies!

I played RVH to experience the 2k3 redeemer blasts.
Personally, I really like the blast and mostly the sounds (launch and blast) of the original UT99 Redeemer!
UT99 Redeemer launch and blast sounds are just a bit more wicked, louder and crisper I think!
The 2k3 sound seemed a bit muffled with less of the menacing "Snap" that the UT99 redeemer blast has!
The UT99 deemer blast sound shakes my house where as the 2k3 one doesn't.
(Polk Audio Speakers with Advent Sub woofer!) :wink:

Play nice with the other Redeemer Server Admins. Yes, everybody wants a piece of the pie or wants to put it in somebody else face. Usually I see clowns get pie in the face. I'm just saying we all need to help each other as much as possible and only kick each other in the teeth when it doesn't actually hurt.
