How about changing those to make it more fun. For the bio it could be changed to "You got the Goo Gun"
I'd suggest you:

GES Bio Rifle = Goo Gun / Slimer
ASMD Shock Rifle = Combo Device
Pulse Gun = Melter
Ripper = BouncyBlade Launcher
Minigun = Grinder
Flak Cannon = Spammer
Rocket Launcher = Splasher
Sniper Rifle = Camper Rifle
Redeemer = Mini Nuker
Extra Health = Energy Drink
ImpactHammer = Piston / Big Pump
Translocator = Transportor (by MEAT) / Telefragger

I'll make the changes. It'll be nice if we have a weekend of Strongmonster play sometime. We can crank up the UTJ to keep up.

I'm getting close to having a server testable version. The admins are alpha testing it now. I will leave the vials, but I'd like to make a replacement for the keg-o-health. Any ideas? It needs to be roughly the same shape, as mappers map with that in mind (think of Godz, you dont want them to stick out of the floor) or just leave them?

I kinda like the Unreal1 superhealth pickups. I don't know why but the MH mod doesn't replace the Kegs with the SuperHealths; or maybe we could use the same health crosses but bigger of course, or even a keg of beer. Once I've found a server, I think it was the [DMC], that used to replace health vials with Heineken cans of beer and medboxes with joints. There were also custom pickup sounds. Fun stuff!

Vials are tricky because mappers tend to put them very close together. Once you run the test on the one I sent, let me know what else to add and I'll get on it.

EDIT... I slept on the redeemer/translocator problem and I think I have the solution. I altered the UTJ to replace the random redeemer award with a random translocator award and set a check so that you could only get one trans (You know how if you get two or three deemer awards it shows them as seperate weapons? This won't). If you guys like this, I'll remove the translocator damage call and include it so you can't transfrag the monsters.

Also if someone gets some free time, could they ping me and join a testserver for maybe 5 minutes? I want you to teamkill me to see if the teamkill code is sorted out. Bots wont work on this.

Gah! Spent all day today on making a translocator that wont telefrag a monster. Dang it was HARD. You'd think it simple but it's quite complex to do it without creating errors. (Big shout to Iniquitous for his guidance!)

The mod is quite nearly done. Perhaps we can server test it tomorrow? POTS, you or Rei want to run some live server testing at your convenience? I need to get with you guys on the settings.

Mod is done and on the server. First person to steal my MHMtranslocator and post it to another server wins :evil: .

(Seriously, that was tough to do. If you code and are interested, let me know and I'll send you the classes. It's clean, no errors and will not double up on you. I always share my work with anyone, so don't hesitate to ask. I know several admin have looked for a non-fragging trans for MH.)

As for the trans...It has default strength, is tossable so weaker players may use it, and is given as a random award in-game (replacing the redeemer award). You can't telefrag a monster and if you try there is a chance you may get telefragged for your trouble. If a map has the tele placed in it (like MH-Face) that will work as normal and you can probably carry both, though I'm not sure. Gotta test that.

This is just a beginning, so bring your ideas to POTS and Reiyel and let them build you a fun server.

Reminds me of *TNT* Snipers where the health vials are beercans and you make a loud BURRP when you pick them up.

They also have these super boots that make you jump like 6 stories and play a little Bon Scott yelling "I'm TNT, I'm dynamite!"

There has been an MH map or 2 where I could have used them.

If anyone wanders in and wants the trans, here is a stand alone version, no UTJ or anything needed. Should work in all gametypes too, but may act funny with opposing team bots if you run a DM style map with this (why would you use this though?). Instructions in the readme.

(From readme:
MHTrans is a mod that allows trans to be used in MH games but does not allow telefragging of scripted pawns (monsters, and bots too). Your trans puck will simply not work if it is within a 300 unit halo around any monster's collision.)

Now that you guys have had a chance to play it, I am open to any suggestions you might have. Please be as blunt as you like, criticism is something I take very well. If you don't like something, say so. Is there anything you'd like added in? I've got a few good ideas for monsterhunt itself but I'd like to get this thing as perfect as possible.

One thing I am going to fix is the trans award. I should have added a check to see if the winner had a trans, and if so give to another. What do you think? Is it better to let lady luck decide or swing the vote a bit in players favor?
