The Jargonaut wrote:I must apologize to you MEAT. I will not be able to make this tonight. I was so looking forward to this as well. A rechedule would be super. I am hoping for next week, but I can not be sure. I have a family member that is ill and do not know just how my weekend next week (or the remainder of this week for that matter) will turn out.
Again, my apologies. Perhaps someone will pinch hit for old Jarg tonight? I will post a link on RI.com and see if there are any takers.
Update on this. My grandmother is in the final stages of kidney failure. She is back home from the hospital now but with her condition, she does not have long. Then again, she is a tough woman, so I think that she will be around for a few months yet.
Either way, late that Saturday night of the match, after I got home, I was changing cases on my gaming rig to pass the time. Long story short, the vid card did not work afterwards. I am waiting on it's replacment to arrive. The radeon 7000 that I have now is just an insult to the eyes as well as to the framerate. Rest assured, we will have a dual when my rig is back up and running. I am really looking forward to it.
Dang Jarg , I'm sorry to hear about your Grand, anything you need just holler ya hear?

Meat, ya gotta understand, dude! after you've played as much and as long as some of us have, fun or no, ya just get burned out and as there are other things good and bad going on in some of the folks here's lives (Jarg for Ex.) Good ole redeemers just aint the first thing on our lists of things to do. When I have time and ! I can get a clean connection lol ! yea I love to hang out and play with the old gang ( and I mean old whew)!! Redeemer rocks always!, I just wish that it would be suitable and as playable for the newer UT engines as a stand alone mod like it was for UT99. , but alas, it hasn't worked out that way. There is still UT 2007 coming though, maybe the redeemer will be more familier for that one 8)

Later all

Well as I've said before, Bigi had the redeemer just about perfectly tweaked for UT 2k4 quite a while ago.

The problem back then was the lack of good maps to play in. That has long since been solved, but we need somewhere to play the UT2k4 version of redeemer arena.

Life and Death comes and goes...that is God's will....it's the middle that's the hard part....but anything that gets my mind off
of Real Life problems/issues I'm all in favor of it. And as of right now my relieve is the Redeemer.

And I don't care what it is, checkers or kicking the dog, nothing is more important than family.

And after 4 years I can care less about playing the Redeemer but as long as I'm
here I'll do my best to improve it and make it last.

Thank for the kind words and offer, Chef. I can say that the only good thing is that it will not be something unforseen. I have had time to be with her and to pray for her and to prepare myself. THough it will be a very sad occasion, it will also be an end to her pain. That, in itself is a comfort to me.

MEAT, I live for the fight. Like you, it is an excellent way to blow off some steam. Win or loose. I promise you that this will happen. Get ready to be guiding and hear that sound...beep beep KERSPLAT! :D

Hey Jarg, my prayers are with you sir. I lost all of my grandparents a long time ago. I still have my mother and everyone on my in-law side of the family who I love very much.

On the note about the UT2004 Deemer server, call me crazy or old fashioned but I just don't see the deemer ever being as popular as it is in UT99. Kepp in mind that I hope I'm wrong and if I ever think there is a market to be had with the Deemer mod in the future, you can rest assured that I'll be there!

Back to you Jarg................keep the faith. Love the ones your with!
~Peace~

Thanks Herm. I appreciate it. It is something that touches us all many times in our lives.
As for the 2K4 Redeemer server, I have not seen )3igi around in a while. The idea would work, but I believe that the maps HAVE to be huge for it to be popular. Guiding is a must.
Who knows, maybe someone will step up to the plate and give it a try.

I downloaded some nice map packs for UT2k4 last year. I'll be happy to play test them offline and then submit the ones I think are good possibilities. All I need is Bigi's mod as I've reinstalled UT2k4, and some place to submit my suggestions. :)

I was hoping you would see that :D
Yep. The 2K4 deemer game relies on the big maps. The dynamics of the deemer make it a must.
Hmm. I seem to sense someone that may be interested?
