Not sure how to title this..
I was watching the news and I heard about this story and about possible charges on the father. http://www.kristv.com/news/texas-father ... -molester/
You know..........I do not blame the father for what he did. I would have done the same if not worse. It is our job to protect our children.
There should no charges against the father in the case. I know we are not supposed to take the law in our own hands, but, if I came across this with my daughter or any 4 year old child, the police will be needing to get to him before I did.

Re: Not sure how to title this..
The thing that irks me about this news article is the following: "Harmon said the victim was a 47-year-old man from Gonzales with no apparent prior criminal history."
One, the alleged molester is not a VICTIM. You can not be a victim if you are the suspect of the crime.
I heard that there are people rallying to get the father charged....
What is the world coming to?
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/06/12/te ... ter-probe/"
James Harrington, director of the Texas Civil Rights Project, an Austin-based nonprofit group, questioned the father’s decision to “summarily execute” the alleged molester without due process." James.....
... what can I say?????
I do hope that evidence/facts of the story comes through and if there is evidence/facts that prove that the deceased attempted to molest the child.....justice was served and if you believe in a God (in which I do) True Justice will be coming for him.

He should be punished but no matter how deserving that jerkweed was, he still had rights.
I'd go suspended sentence for a justifiable homicide.
By the way, your poll up top doesn't work... that or it just says "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again." if anyone selects 'yes'.

Insufficient evidence to decide if the homicide was justified or not, as we have only the man's word for what happened at this point. But if it all happened the way that the father says it did, then yes, he should not be punished. If his act of defending his daughter devolved into rage, then he is guilty of 2nd degree murder, but I would not punish him very severely myself. Sure glad I'm not the judge if he goes to trial!
If that Dad was too proactive in defense of his daughter, then what about the parents of this girl? Watch the video to get more information than is provided by the text.

Does someone deserve to be punished for letting it come to this? What if she dies?

Well, no charges. The DA (District Attorney) even stated that there were some injuries to the child that matches the story of the father and witness, and the witness's story matches that of the father's.
All evidence points towards the male subject attempting to molest the child and the father caught the subject in act and killed the subject. The father called police about it and it was stated that the subject was remorseful.
Right or wrong in your point of view, the grand jury decided that it was in self defense of a 3rd person (a child), that this killing happened.

I'm glad that it seemed to work out. I want to know if the dead man was a legal citizen or not. Half the time our liberal media will try to hide some facts like that from us. Sadly, odds are better that he is illegal here in Texas than not.
I also want to know why the poll doesn't work

The poll option has not worked for some time. At least the last time I tried a poll, it did the same thing.Hermskii wrote:I'm glad that it seemed to work out. I was waiting for your response to this story. I was thinking that you and I would have the same point of view on this, and I think we do.
