I still remember when Hermskii was holed up in his house (he and a few tough neighbors also in their homes) in a bad hurricane years back.
It doesn't look good this time around either - How is it going there Hermskii???

Well yes, but that was last Friday and we know that Houston got hammered in the days after that.Hook wrote:FYI - I did hear back from Hermskii a bit later on Friday evening in a few texts ...

"We stayed. Houston is far from the bad part and this house has never been close to flooding."

"We will be fine. Thanks.
We stayed as did all others around us."
From the news reports, I kinda question -> "Houston is far from the bad part"![]()
I hope he is right about all that, and he and his family are safe!![]()
I am guessing he is without power, etc., right now.
That is very good news indeed, and a relief to hear, that you and yours are okay. I know you stayed dry in the past. But when the news reported that homes that were high and dry until reservoir flood gates had to be opened, and thereby causing them to be flooded anyhow, I was worried.Hermskii wrote: I and my family are perfectly good to go. We are high and dry. Power flickered a couple of times but never turned off more than a minute. There was no flooding at my house but several sister neighborhoods got nuked. In 50 years I have never seen so much flooding around Houston.
Yes to both!Hermskii wrote:So many things could be better.
My family and I are blessed that we have dodged this bullet.
