Hellfire that is WAY above what I have and i can play UT99 very well with high res graphics etc.
My comp is about 8 years old.
So yours should make UT99 FLY!

Hellfire, there are many things that can be done to improve the graphics in UT. Your system is better than mine except for the video card. Still, your video card is more than plenty to max out UT video preferences. Ever heard of using OpenGL with the S3TC high definition textures that came on the second CD of the retail version of UT99. They came with the Game of the Year version as well I think.

They make the game look a little better for sure.

On My old CP I still have Vodoo Card . I got new PC Ti 4200 .
I play UT99 Game was Crashing all time It also look strange.If wasn't for doing this "Ever heard of using OpenGL with the S3TC high " My game still be crashing. To thanks To herm fix it

Well, "fortunately" UT99 has remained a popular game for all these years.
My comp was top-notch back in 1999-2000.
I still play UT99 very well, even in higher res., unless the map I am playing is built with a zillion polys.

So I haven't needed a new comp.

Amen!! I had to go play some 2k4 after messing with UT3 just to see a good game again and get some frags

I thought highly of UT99. I hated UT2K3. I thought UT2K4 was much much better than UT2K3 but still a far cry from UT99. I still haven't touched UT3 enough to judge it though I knew I'd hate it based on the demo so I'll just pass all together. I think one major flaw was going away from the UT Desktop like it is in UT99. I'm sick of hunting for settings. I want them all to work the same way version after version after version. I thought the control panel in UT3 was the worst yet. All this login crap to play on your own computer sux too. To hell with UT3 so far based on the demo.

I feel like if people really feel this way about u3 then maybe there might be another, hmm whats the word im looking for, ut99 resolution?
They will see how bad u3 is and come back although that is my opinion lol

I'm not sold on UT3 either, hard to run unless you have at least a nvidia 8800 ( preferebly an ultra, $700!!) and a dual core , and about 2 gigs of ram . And the settings pages are a pain too, They have lots to answer for imho, I'm not too keen on this game at all atm it's unplayable for my current specs so its back to 2k4 and UT99!!
