Server not showing up in list

Post by BiGbOsS » Sat Feb 09, 2008 12:40 am

Hey guys :?
need some help here
see i went to swim practice with my server up and everything fine
i come home and the internet was down and no one knew why!
I fixed it (took me, my little brother, and my big bro)
Now i try to start my server and it wont show up on the master list nor will gametracker scan it
herm i have read ur manual up and down i cant figure it out i even tried it without my fire wall on.
I then tried it with my port 7737 and 7738 query port and many others still wont work!
maybe its a router problem?
It has been a long day for me

When the internet goes down for an extended time sometimes the service provider issues a new ip to you automatically. Check your ip. Go to www.whatismyip.com
If you have a new address then you will have to delete the server from gametracker and re add it.

Then you can also check to make sure your computer local ip address is correct in the router. Maybe the ports are open but for the wrong address?
example?:
When i reboot my system i have two comps connected to the router. When they boot sometimes one gets on quicker then the other and the local ips get switched. Go into your router config and look at the local ip's make sure that is proper too.

What do u mean router config?
You mean where i enter the router ip into the internet browser?
i cant remember my god d@m username and password i think X knows but he is sleeping right now!
I will check it in the morning!
I know about the new ip thing lol thats why i was trying to get a new gametracker but it couldnt scan my server
HMM my moms computer is hooked up to our router is it possible that since that computer stayed on that it took that computers ip instead of mine?
lol this is new ip is the same one i was entering into gametracker
weird when i started my server i didnt have to open any ports! i just had it set on 7777 and i had windows fire wall just make ut an exception! I wonder if now i have to do something?

UPS

Post by Hermskii » Thu Mar 06, 2008 12:21 pm

I have a UPS on my server that provides constant power to the server and the cable modem. If the modem stays on, the IP will never change except maybe a couple of times a year. The modem needs to stay on no matter what!
