UT2004 who plays?

elo ive had UT2004 for a few weeks now and wondering if any of u guys play it or have it, it would be nice too play some old faces on a nice upgraded UT and theres a game mode all the MH Vetarans would love called invasion.

not sure if it comes with the game or not might be in a bonus pack not sure cos i got the anthology pack and that came with all the bonus packs. anyway invasion is basically wave apon wave of monsters and is alot harder than MH lol but alot of fun with the RPG stat building mod were u can choose a class like medic, weapons master and adrenaline master and build up ur health, refire rate, weapon damage, and buy special abilities like monster spawning , speed increase, magic weapons and the rest.

would be nice too play some familar faces :D

I have it. I never play it. Invasion does comewith it and yes it is fun especially when you play it with others but I've been there, done that and am burned out on it. Good luck finding people.

A few people play it at my site, I myself do not have it and I am still real happy with UT99! :wink:

I use to play UT2k4 but only on SAS sniping and camping server which is a very nice server with very nice people.

I now only play two games : 99 and 2K4 :wink:

- UT99 CG or Kid's or Meat's redeemer game

- UT99 DOU sniper server (sometimes but not too much because of my very bad ping there)

- UT2K4 SAS sniper clan.
Too much lag ? go fishing...

Hey Supreme One, just about everyone here has tried UT2k4. There's still a dedicated community out there for this game, but most folks dropped back to UT99. There were a lot of reasons. Many didn't like the way they modified the weapons for the new game. A lot of whiners had complained about the sniper rifle, and the goo and flak guns. So those and the other weapons were changed to the point that most players hated them. There seemed to be a lot of restrictions in the mapping too, which made it impossible to go into the hiding places that we love so much in UT99 Redeemer Arena. The redeemer itself was messed with, which made it difficult to base a redeemer arena mod around.

There was once a group of players that made a highly modified version of Invasion too. I liked one of their earlier efforts, but they kept messing with it so much that it stopped being fun to play. I don't know if they're still around.

Lastly, the latest version of this game, UT3 has been released. Many are giving it a try right now. This 4th version of the game will only serve to fracture the UT gaming community even more.

hmm, yer they did change alot of weapons for the worse, ofcourse it wil never be as good as UT99 main reason i got it was ive played UT99 way too much have the whole game installed too the back of my brain, UT2004 aint that bad it just grows on u over time and it does have its good points like the maps all look very nice and the movement system is nice. not too fond on the vehicles but i only really play TDM and Invasion. som1 needs too make a MH mod for it, would make the game alot better.

Or maybe your too old to keep up :wink: hehehehe :twisted: bunch of UT99 old ladies !LMAO dang good this MALBEC ! weeeeeeeee Just kiddin!! sorta :lol:

UT2k4 rawks it ! I'm in a UT2k4 / UT3 clan that has a SIG style Zark ( the leviathon, made by Cyberhawk, thats kept me happy as far as Ut2k4 for a while now. we still have a 2k4 server up and running ,very fast ( 1.5 game speed , low grav and fast frans and awesome players ! Still miss Slayeds hell server though, those were some great games and great fun there !!!! 2k3 and 2k4 ! Still unable to play UT3 yet, gonna have to rebuild my comp for that one! especially as my 9800 ati is currenty dying on me :cry: I'm afraid the GPU is fried due to overheating, so it's upgrade time it's right at 5 years old, so it's time for upgrade!!!weeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I got UT04 its alright ive played a couple of times but gets kinda of boring it seems slower then UT99 thou but ahh gotta install it again thou... :D
