I use dynamic lighting
thats cause though a lot of mh maps, you need to get the searchlight in order to see through the map!

Dynamic lighting doesn't effect the use of the searchlight. :shock:
It only turns on fog and coronas n stuff.

If it is off i'm pretty sure you can still use the searchlights.

Not for me if its off, then i cant see the search lights.

maybe cause im using d3d9 renderer?

I don't use dynamic lighting because I don't like fog and it keeps me from seeing bad guys. I turned mine off as I turnedoff the coronas too. Now I can see through through smoke and see peple standing/hiding behind lights. eave the fog out. You should not have to have dynamic lightig turned on to see lght from flashlights. Verify ths by turning off that feature in regular D3D and play a map that uses lights. You'll be able to see them even with dynamic lighting turned off. CYA!

I like the fog. It adds a realism to the environment. I'm all about being sucked in to it when i'm playing. Anything to make 99 look better is my goal as well. I'm using the d3 tex and enhanced OGL renderer. check out my last post in the screen shot thread. I think it looks pretty good.
Though it is still giving me a problem with the brightness that i don't know how to fix. Herm?

volumetric lighting is fog, i like it on as u said it adds realism. as for the open gl darkness thats allways been there on UT but ive got the unofficial Unreal 227 patch and it uses a modded open gl with those high resolution textures and special effects like footprints and wall scarring, also the brightness has been fixed it also came with d3d8 and d3d9 renderers that i aint tryed yet

Can i try out your ogl rendor? Give a link please or PM me with one. I need to try anything i can find . It's totally dark when i'm playing. Please. :P

well i was refering to Unreal patch lol not UT but if u google Unreal Patch 227 ull find it, im sure u could find a good custom open gl driver for UT

Hey K, there is a known issue with the brightness when using OpenGL. There is a fix for it too. Wasn't it listed in that thread over at BUF you started about this problem?

I have not been able to find a solution as of yet.
My brightness is at max and it looks like it is half way, its almost to dark and it gets in the way of the game sometimes. I have to play with the lights off.
