My computer just got Hosed! F**K F**K F**K

Windows will not boot at all.
And the back up restore points were corrupted too , they were deleted.

Im just going to format and start over. It is much safer that way.

Let me know if you have not yet erased your drive. I have a process that pretty much restores XP everytime.

Yeah, same thing happened here!
Couldn't do restores any which way!

An IT guru at my wife's work said it is happening more and more now as some newer software is designed for Vista and sometimes installs things over needed system files from older OS's.
Luckily I could just re-install Windows without wiping out my files and other software.

Herm i am really interested in your method. I don't want to loose some stuff i have on the desktop , but i cannot access it by putting it in another box as a slave. Anything is worth a shot at this point.

[UPDATE]

ok i tried to install a new partition on the drive and the drive is fu*ked.
I cant install windows on it, the drive has been corrupted like a politician .

So i put in a new 40gig hd and windows went on swimmingly. uploaded servicepack 2 and all is good.

tomorrow i get to re install all my programs and settings.

sorry bout system K, and sorry for the late reply....

one thing i dont understand is that it wont work as a slave, ive never heard that before........

if your still looking for emulators heres some sites, but ive never been able to run one on my crappy system lol:

Not sure if either of those sites have games, you could probably get the games from some torrents, or google pcsx2 games lol.
it also depends wat torrent site you use, some of them are loaded with viruses, you just got to find the right site, ive never gotten a virus from a torrent, and thats how i got ut99

Get Adaware at http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php and it should stop that. You do have a antivirus program too right?
