Stay or Go?

Post by a nameless entity » Thu Sep 11, 2008 8:38 pm

Hey Herm, I guess you're wondering whether to hunker down and stay, or to pack up and go, what with Hurricane Ike on its way to you.

I'm wondering if you're already gone and have just left the servers running until the power goes out?

Either way, I hope you manage safely. Take care.

He already said he is staying in another thread. But a story is always nice to hear. What has he done to prepare? Fridge full of beer? Pantry full of ramen? Canned foods? Batteries and mushmellows? :D

I'm good ere I think. I have food and drinks. I'm really only worried about flooding. I have film of everything here and batteries are charging for the flashlights and the radio when power goes out. All my neighbors arestaying too so I can get help if I need it. Porn collection is intact!

They had said that there MAY be some mandatory evacuations around Houston, especially low lying areas - on The Weather Channel.
Hope all goes good, but keep us posted Hermskii!

I'm located in the C area just at the cusp of areas B and C. A nad B have to evacuate. C is voluntary evacuation. The storm failed to grow into the catagory 3-4 as projected it would on Thursday. It looks like it will make landfall as a cat 2 storm and that drops wind speeds dowm for ealier projections for my area of 89mph down to about 65mph. At this point, now I'm only worried about a short power outage and flooding.

I hope it doesn't make it up to my house.
The annual Harvest Full moon Bike ride is saterday night.
It is a yearly bike ride for all Austinites.
The ride is incredible. Last year over 500 people showed up.
If this hurricane ruins it this year i will be upset.
