I feel your pain KK.
But at the same time I can empathize.
Back when I was a newbie it was very frustrating losing all the time.
And I hated to see certain people because they knew maps better than anyone else.
They knew spawn points, which was mostly the way they won, and they knew where
to hide.
And no one was really willing to help out the new guy. I had to learn on my own.
So I spent a lot time watching and dying....and if no one was around
I spent the time exploring. Yeah, I don't miss those days but at the same
time it made me a better player.
So as for those that leave all the time....whatever.
But as you said..."you don't get better by leaving".

My advice to all newbies that frequent this forum but don't post:
Watch and learn...and ask questions...I love to help.
Because I want you to become better, then maybe you will stay?

You two are funny. This issue is why I got bad at playing UT after being so good for such a long time. I learned that they will not come or stay if they come if I beat the crap out of them.....ever. You have to keep it close by placing about 3rd place out of every 6 players. Even then, only 1 of the top three will stay around and they will kill everybody and the problem continues.

That is why I used to ban the regulars from my first server so the newbs had a chance in hell. Then I'd graduate the newbs to SRA so they could fight really good players. C'mon, you have to remember this story MEAT.

Oh yes I remember the story.
But do you remember when I tried to keep games close so people wouldn't leave?
This one time I could of blow this guy out of the water but I prolonged his certain defeat and kept it close to the end.
Then he turns around and beats me my 1 point. And that I can handle because I screwed up.
But what I couldn't handle was when I said "gg" and he gave me the "lol"...followed by a "FU loser".
Then he left me there standing with blood on my boots and a empty beer in my hand.
