Nope, you guys aren't even close. Here's a hint: One of the barns will be for "Flight Training"....
Oh and Supreme has stepped up to help me get this map done. He's going to help me get the texture work and he's going to design some of the training areas. BIG thanks Supreme for that. I kind of let this get out of control adding so much, but I think it will be worth it.

Here is a small movie preview of the entrance and gateway area. It's kinda big but it needed some detail. This should answer the "how" of the village. Oh, and the cube you see move over the other cube is a block to keep some random player from hammering the trigger (watch the vid then you'll understand):

I'm going to (hopefully) have a beta on the server for testing on Sunday. It's not the final but I really want everyone to look at their places and make the changes they want. Also it's been really hard not getting the right input on this because I have kept so much quiet. It will be nice to have everyone's honest opinion on what to change/add/fix. Literally everything is on the table for the different areas so make a list of things you see that need attention. I'm sure people will want to add in the houses once they see what other people have done. Don't hesitate to think up ideas. It's fun for me to do this stuff for you guys.

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
I won't mind as long as my house gets some walls
Honestly though, I look forward to seeing the re-textured areas, seeing how many of the training areas work, getting into everyones houses who let me, going diving in that big lake to see if there's anything there and handling your food products in an unsavoury manner.
Oh wait, that last part was a Simpsons quote...
Heheheheheh...I noticed a really big monster count, is this following the REMIX style?

Actually you bring up a point I haven't hit yet. Yes, there are monsters in the village. At times it could be quite a few but they are not game relevant. The map can be finished without ever entering the village. The monsters are there because i needed to XXXXXXXXXXX and then there was XXXXXXXX. Of course, now you understand.
Let's just say the monsters in the village section are by request or need.

I suggest you only add some Nali's, Cows.
Maybe in the training rooms some monsters but I think it's nice if the village doesn't contain monsters.
Maybe in the lake some Squids or Devilfish?

Personally I'd add a hidden instagib, no monsters though.

Let me put your fears at rest. Are there monsters in the village? Yes. Can they hurt you? Yes. Well, some. Is it monsterhunt in the village? No. Confused?
I was very careful to incorporate monsters in such a way as to make it part of the village vibe, not "Defend your house from the invasion". The whole village and associated areas are recreation so if you encounter a monster(s) it's because you or another player chose them to be there for some reason. I know it sounds a little obtuse but bear with me. I don't want to tell anything that each person may or may not have done to their house or area.
POTS has been a beta tester for me for a while on my various projects. I enjoy his honest opinion and his insight into what makes a good map/mod/experience. He has been helping me quietly with this (as he often does, thank you so much Pots!) so I'd like for him to chime on too on monsters in the village. I just don't think I'm explaining it well without giving away too much. Pots feel free to relate anything you think is appropriate.

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
Is it really possible to have a house option for "monster spawner"!?
if I die in the village and F5 someone near a button I may have to hate them for several hours
Maybe we can push Scotty over the edge

Was I left out or have you just done no-one yet?ScottyD wrote:I'll get with everyone soon by PM on the custom weaponry. It's not a huge deal but it will make a nice touch.

Of all the requested stuff, I've been able to accomodate most of it. If you have an idea, pitch it to me via PM. I'll try my best.BIOMECH wrote:Is it really possible to have a house option for "monster spawner"!?

I like you to review my stuff because if something sucks, you say so. Feel free to explain anything you want about the map/mod. I'm going to work tonight on the final village texturing then let Supreme tighten up his stuff tomorrow/next day and it should be done.*POTS* wrote: Hey Scotty thank you for holding me in great esteem, it always feels good to be flattered.
